Environmental Policy
CDMS recognises that its business can have an impact on the environment and we take steps to minimise any adverse impact both through our activities and those of our supply chain.
We will always meet legislative and regulatory environmental requirements and codes of practice. We strive to continue to be regarded as a good neighbour, demonstrating environmental care in the communities in which we operate.
CDMS are currently working towards certification of our Environmental Management System (EMS) to international environmental standard ISO 14001:2004
CDMS current activities encompass the purchasing of paper in excess of 50,000 tonnes and the processing of mailing items in excess of 900 million items.
To manage the environmental impacts we will:
- Only buy paper from suppliers whose wood is sourced from Sustainable Managed Forests
- Waste generated from our mailing activities is actively recycled. Currently we recycle in excess of 90% of waste materials
- Identify areas of wasteful use of resources. Promote continuous improvement through prevention of pollution, waste minimisation and encouraged recycling
- Document our EMS to capture non conformances, with corrective actions
- Measure our performance and processes objectively and share this information with colleagues and partners
- Communicate our environmental policy to all employees by combined awareness programmes with our quality and information security systems
